3D Printed Plugs

I originally tried to stay out of the plug market because there were already so many builders, and I wanted to focus my efforts on solving other surfcasting problems. But there was one thing I overlooked: finding custom plugs that were high-quality, consistent, and affordable.

When I first started making blanks, I didn’t want to rush them out just to make a sale. I kept the first few batches within my fishing group and close customers, collecting as much feedback as I could before moving on to different stages of production. Huge thanks to Tommy from Frost Point Lures for listening to my wild 3 a.m. design ideas—and to the spring run of gator bluefish on the South Shore for stress-testing every phase of the process.

Now, onto what really makes 3D-printed lures different from traditional wooden surfcasting plugs;

Consistency is the biggest game-changer. With plastic-bodied plugs, no two are different—unlike wood, where weights and action can vary. The lure you buy from me will have the exact same action as the one I designed.

Affordability was another priority. It's a sickening feeling losing a plug that costs as much as a steak dinner. 3D printing the blanks saves time and space in production, which helps me keep prices low—without cutting corners—so they're accessible to everyone.

Quality is something I refuse to compromise on. All blanks are printed using ASA plastic, known for its durability and built-in UV stabilizers to withstand sun and salt exposure. Each lure is finished with a two-part epoxy for added protection and a clean, lasting look.
